The Crafts

CALLING ALL ARTISTS
Come to our quiet and peaceful haven away from home, where you can paint all day with like-minded people. There will be no tutor, but plenty of motivation. This is a good chance to catch up with those painting projects you have been putting off, finish projects in time for Xmas. An enjoyable and productive day.

CRAFT & CONVERSATION
Come along and learn some crafty skills in an informal and fun social gathering. Bring along your current craft project or just come for a chat. Everyone Welcome!!

PAPER TOLE
Beginners will learn this 3 dimensional art form and to help experienced Paper Tolers to complete their current projects. We are offering several Classes in 2 locations, Hedley and Yarram. All advanced students bring their current projects and tools. Beginners are very welcome and will begin with a simple project. RL and Beginners Kit cost to be advised.

Our Health Policy: We try to protect your health by asking all learners and staff who are feeling ill to stay at home and pamper themselves until they are fully recovered. This courtesy stops the spread of illness such as colds and flu, gastro and other viruses, and ensures an enjoyable learning environment for all.

The Arts
CREATE YOUR OWN GLASS PLATES, TRAYS & BOWLS
Create your own designs on a flat piece of glass using several different techniques and special paints. You will enjoy this happy class, and wait till you see your piece return in the form of a sandwich tray or plate. No experience necessary. Booking essential for each session.
DECORATIVE & FINE ART
Amaze yourself by painting landscapes, seascapes, and Portraits of ancestors, family members or pets, in an amazing new medium and acrylics. Join this friendly group of artists in morning or afternoon classes – or bring your lunch and stay for both. All Welcome.
RL at the end of the description of a class, means that there is a "Requirements List" of items needed to be brought to the class.

Needles & Threads
PATCHWORK QUILTS
Producing a beautiful Quilt is a great way to relax and meet friendly like minded people. Chose from the many quilt designs available, or make a wall hanging or table runner that your family will enjoy for many years to come.

WORKING WITH NEEDLES
Work with any type of needles – from the finest embroidery to the thickest knitting, and all in between. Merril will encourage you to chose a project from many forms of needlework available, or will help you complete needlework items already begun. Your work can be fine embroidery, stumpwork, barbola, tapestry, knitting or crochet projects. Please Book for each class.
Its very important to register an interest if our scheduled class time does not suit or you are interested in any course at all! Other people may have similar needs and we can make up a class. There is no obligation!

Get Physical

STRENGTH TRAINING
Our Strength Training Classes are held on Mondays & Thursdays in Yarram.

In Yarram we offer: Six Strength Training Sessions – various times in day and evening Two sessions Tai Chi – day Two sessions Healthy Balance All participants for all Fitness Classes must enrol at the YCLC Office. Times and costs will be published in the monthly edition of The Drum.

LEARN TO DANCE
Here is your chance to learn old time dancing. Come along – no partner needed. Lessons start at 7 to 8pm, Dancing 8 to 10pm.
Every Sunday night from January 15th, 2012
Great way to keep fit and have fun at the same time.

Computers for Everyone

All computer classes are held at 310 Commercial Road.

Computer Skills Every Employer Wants
Begin new or refresh your computer skills to improve your employment options.
Learn to organize and file your letters, add pictures, USB stick, internet applications etc.

Computers for Absolute Beginners
If you have never used a computer, this is the class for you. We’ll show you the basics in a fun and friendly atmosphere. You will learn to use the mouse, play solitaire (and win) writing and saving letters, among many other things..(5 weeks)

Email News & Share Photos
We’ll show you the easy and fast way to surf the net to get the information you need, email features, send pictures to your friends, and set up a free email account, etc. (5 weeks)

Digital Photos & Graphics
Transfer your photos from digital camera to your computer. Scan your old or new photos to your computer and use a Graphics program to manipulate, retouch, or enhance them. Save your photos to your memory stick (USB) or CD/DVD. (5 weeks). Some experience and familiarity with computers and digital camera preferred.

At The Workshop
MEN'S SHED
A day for the blokes – if you have a few spare hours on Wednesdays, come along to the men’s shed. Plenty to do if you want to build it, fix it, bugger it or break it. If you bugger it up, we will help fix it. Just want a chat? There is always someone who will listen. Have a project but don’t know where to start – we’ll start you off. Want something to do? We can give you a small project for the community. Come and go as you please – no strings attached.
Date: Wednesday 6th Oct & each Wednesday of term. Lunch provided. Cost $3.00 per day
