Do you yearn for some "Me" time? Away from the demands of your daily life, away from phones and constant interruptions that stop you from doing those things you would like to do, if you had time? If so, you are not alone.
That is why we have formed new motivational groups tailored to your specific interests:

CREATE YOUR OWN SPECIAL PHOTOBOOK
What do you do with all your digital photos? Are they sitting in a file on your computer waiting for you to do something with them? Or worse still, sitting in your camera. Now you can learn an easy way to preserve your precious photos and create professional quality, hardbound books. Sue will show you how digital scrapbooking allows you to choose the background, the placement of your photos, journaling boxes and any decorative elements you want to add to your pages to create your own high quality photobook. Ideal for preserving family memories and special gifts. We have examples in the office – come and have a look. BYO Photos to class on USB (at least 2 gig, please).

CARDS, INVITES AND WEDDING STATIONARY
Create your own personalized cards, Mothers Day, Birthday, any event cards and invitations. Save money by creating one of a kind Wedding Stationary to suit the style of your wedding. The Crafts
A NEW USE FOR A COMMON HOUSEHOLD ITEM
Here’s a great idea – take your CD or DVD discs, add a stand, paint them all, and turn them into attractive and unusual drink coasters that your friends will admire. Merril will show you how to paint 6 coasters and stand, for an unusual talking point in your home, or a gift for a friend. No painting experience necessary.

FABRIC SCULPTURE - MERMAID
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to try your hand at Fabric Sculpting – a popular new trend for indoor or outdoor decoration. Create your own beautiful, mythical creature, sitting on a rock, sunning herself, surrounded by driftwood, seaweed and seashells. The sculpture is approx 50cm tall and is perfect by a pond or water feature. All statues are completely weatherproof after a three week curing period. Call in to see the display of statues at the centre.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS
Come to our quiet and peaceful haven away from home, where you can paint all day with likeminded people. There will be no tutor, but plenty of motivation. This is a good chance to catch up with those painting projects you have been putting off, finish projects in time for Xmas. An enjoyable and productive day.

YARRAM SPINNERS
The Yarram Spinners are a friendly group who now meet at the Centre every second Friday of each month. There are excellent spinners and knitters who would be pleased to share their knowledge and teach you to spin, knit or crochet - they even have spare wheels they can lend to anyone wishing to spin at home. All Welcome!

CRAFT & CONVERSATION
Due to popular demand we have extended our Craft & Conversation days to include Tuesdays, to give everyone a chance to come along and learn some crafty skills in an informal and fun social gathering. Bring along your current craft project or just come for a chat. Everyone Welcome!!

PAPER TOLE
Beginners will learn this 3 dimensional art form and to help experienced Paper Tolers to complete their current projects. We are offering several Classes in 2 locations, Hedley and Yarram. All advanced students bring their current projects and tools. Beginners are very welcome and will begin with a simple project. RL and Beginners Kit cost to be advised.

Needles & Threads
PATCHWORK QUILTS
Producing a beautiful Quilt is a great way to relax and meet friendly like minded people. Chose from the many quilt designs available, or make a wall hanging or table runner that your family will enjoy for many years to come.

WORKING WITH NEEDLES
Work with any type of needles – from the finest embroidery to the thickest knitting, and all in between. Merril will encourage you to chose a project from many forms of needlework available, or will help you complete needlework items already begun. Your work can be fine embroidery, stumpwork, barbola, tapestry, knitting or crochet projects. Please Book for each class.

YARN-IN
If you love knitting wool and the gorgeous new yarns now in the shops come along and see the many creative ways to use them.  Spinning, knitting, crochet, felting, scrumbling – see other people’s projects and get inspired to produce your own pieces.  There will be patterns to share, and if you have any problems of a Yarny nature bring it along and we’ll try to help.  A lovely relaxing day.

Its very important to register an interest if our scheduled class time does not suit or you are interested in any course at all! Other people may have similar needs and we can make up a class. There is no obligation!

Get Physical

STRENGTH TRAINING
Our Strength Training Classes will be held twice each week on Mondays and Thursdays in Yarram, and Tuesday Evening in Port Albert. Enrolment day is Tuesday 13th July at the Old Union Bank, and classes will begin on Thursday 22nd July and Monday 19th July, but you are invited to join in at any time.

Please Note: Because the Eisteddfod will be on at the Theatre, all classes will be held at the Swimming Pool Club Rooms for a fortnight beginning Thursday 29th June to Thursday 12th August, with Monday 16th August back at the Supper Rooms. We apologise for this inconvenience.

COST Mondays only = $54.00 Thursdays only = $54.00 Both Days: $ 108.00
Please bring along water, a towel, and wear good sports shoes for your comfort.

Remember: Thursday 15th July is a day of Strength Training Classes for all those who missed their usual class on 27th May. due to the unexpected unavailability of our Venue.

FREE COME & TRY - DUO TRAINING
Our trainer, Lorraine, is inviting all interested people who would like to try a free Duo Training exercise class to see how they like it. It's gentle, easy to learn, versatile and very hands on. This unique strength and conditioning program is designed for partnered training sessions. The Duo motto is; twice the fun in half the time! Come along and try the moves or just watch. All Welcome.

LEARN TO DANCE
Here is your chance to learn old time dancing. Come along – no partner needed. Lessons start at 6pm, Practice at 7pm, and Dancing from 8pm. Great way to keep fit and have fun at the same time.

BEGINNERS BALLROOM

The Arts
CREATE YOUR OWN GLASS PLATES, TRAYS & BOWLS
Create your own designs on a flat piece of glass using several different techniques and special paints. You will enjoy this happy class, and wait till you see your piece return in the form of a sandwich tray or plate. No experience necessary. Booking essential for each session.

DECORATIVE & FINE ART

Computers for Everyone
All computer classes are held at 310 Commercial Road.

Computers for Absolute Beginners
If you have never used a computer, this is the class for you. We’ll show you the basics in a fun and friendly atmosphere. You will learn to use the mouse, play solitaire (and win) writing and saving letters, among many other things.. (5 weeks)

Internet & Email
We’ll show you the easy and fast way to surf the net to get the information you need, email features, send pictures to your friends, and set up a free email account, etc. (5 weeks)

Digital Photos & Graphics
Transfer your photos from digital camera to your computer. Scan your old or new photos to your computer and use a Graphics program to manipulate, retouch, or enhance them. Save your photos to your memory stick (USB) or CD/DVD. (5 weeks)
Some experience and familiarity with computers and digital camera preferred.

eBay – Selling
Learn about buying on Ebay – bring a photo of your item and learn how to list it for sale. How to calculate Postage & Packaging, price your item, provide customer service, make banking arrangements, and much more. (3 x 2 hour sessions) Some experience and familiarity with Ebay and Ebay buying required. Pre Class Checklist.

Beginners eBay – Buying
Learn about buying on Ebay - how to set up your account, make a bid, search by categories, ebay shops, and much more. You can buy just about anything – have fun looking. (2x2 hour sessions)

At The Workshop
MEN'S SHED
A day for the blokes – if you have a few spare hours on Wednesdays, come along to the men’s shed. Plenty to do if you want to build it, fix it, bugger it or break it. If you bugger it up, we will help fix it. Just want a chat? There is always someone who will listen. Have a project but don’t know where to start – we’ll start you off. Want something to do? We can give you a small project for the community. Come and go as you please – no strings attached.
Date: Wednesday 14th July & each Wednesday of term. Doors open at 9am, Lunch provided, Cost $3.00 per day.

MEN’S SHED AFTERNOON
Due to popular demand – an afternoon for the blokes. Same as above, but starting after lunch on Tuesdays. For those who can’t make it on Wednesdays, or want to spend a bit of time working on a project or just yarning with other blokes. All Welcome.
